Hello
… and welcome!
It’s been a while since I’ve updated my website, and this time I’ve decided to include a blog that absolutely no one asked for. I’m not sure people would be interested enough to read it as it would mostly be about my life, but I think it will be good for me, so why not.
If you’ve found yourself here, hi, and I hope I keep you entertained enough to read through this first blog entry!
I don’t remember the last time I’ve given a public update about my life, but I’m now based in Australia! I moved here a year and a half ago, and although it has definitely been challenging, it is also one of the most fun experiences of my life.
I live in Newcastle NSW, which is a coastal city a few hours north of Sydney. It has amazing beaches and great coffee, which is more than enough to keep me happy. It’s a lot quieter and slower than my life in Manila, but it is a most welcome change of pace: I recently turned forty (which is right smack middle aged) so this change in lifestyle has come at a totally perfect time in my life.
Coming here I didn’t think I would be able to work as a tattoo artist, but the Universe has its ways and I’m forever grateful that I was given the opportunity to tattoo here. It’s not the same as it was (yet), but I am happy to be able to do it at all!
I’m currently trying to get out of a years-long creative slump, which might be due to Pisces cosmic bad luck or just me making excuses. Either way, I’m trying to get creating again. I’ve been so used to creating for people and working with prompts that I don’t really remember how to create for myself. I used to love doing so many creative things (photography, writing, drawing, etc), and I’m really excited at the possibility of getting back into doing those things again. Hopefully this website refresh and new blog can help jumpstart that.
Anyway. Life is good, the coffee is better, and I am doing my best.
